This sweet'n'sour sauce is made from a centuries-old recipe. A mix of carefully selected fruit is used, coming from prime Italian fruit, which is then candied and soaked in sugar syrup laced with essential mustard oil. Ortofrutta can be savoured all-year round and will quickly and easily brighten up a simple dish turning it into a sophisticated and exceedingly tasty speciality.
Traditionally mostarda was served with boiled meats, the bollito misto which is a speciality of northern Italian cooking. More recently it has become a popular accompaniment to cheeses.
